This May I'm looking for a new role. I’m considering both employed and contractor roles. I’m an ICF - Accredited Coach with 5 years of experience delivering one-to-one and team coaching (320hrs) supporting leadership and organisational development with leaders and organisations across the UK, Europe and Australia. Bringing to this an additional 7 years experience of designing user-centred services, learning programmes and visual brands with Shift Design, Snook and FutureGov.
Areas of deep interest and commitment include projects, programmes and roles that involve complex ethical and organisational challenges, where the self-awareness and inner growth of the organisation, team or leader is considered as an integral part of the change process. 1-2- 1 Leadership Development Coaching:
I have worked with leaders in ‘Director’ and ‘Head’ roles supporting them to discover their leadership styles and work out how that fit with the organisations they were serving. Supporting them to develop: deep confidence in their leadership capacity, a compassionate inner voice, flexibility in thinking, openness to collaboration, groundedness and sense of timing.
1-2-1 Wellbeing Coaching:
Both in my private and associate coaching practice I have worked with people looking to sustain their wellbeing and that of their teams. Most recently I supported headteachers in Scotland to navigate challenges around their wellbeing and that of their teams as an Associate with Know You More. Examples of this work include: having difficult conversations, managing stress levels, managing interpersonal conflict and team dynamics, setting and maintaining work-life boundaries.
Organisational/Team Coaching (2 - 6 ppl):
In the last two years and a half I've worked with four social justice teams navigating complex organisational shifts in their governance and culture. During this time I was an Associate with NEON on the OrgBuilders programme supporting:
- An anti-detention charity shifting from one director to a co-directorship model;
- A non-hierarchical climate justice network re-starting activity after the Covid-19 pandemic;
- A youth-led social enterprise working towards a sustainable financial model;
- A land justice organisation moving from a hierarchical to a non-hierarchical structure.
I approach team coaching through the lens of process consultancy, interweaving strong goal-setting with listening to what is emerging. Supporting teams to: understand their core challenges, develop their ability to leverage difference, increase their capacity to tolerate stress and uncertainty, grow in relational awareness and communication and bridging the gap between values and behaviours in their teams.
Teaching and Supervision:
I've previously co-facilitated on Simply Coaching's coaching courses, supporting new coaches and leaders to discover their coaching personalities, develop a robust set of skills and a strong ethical stance to their practice. For the last three and a half years, I've been providing volunteer coaching supervision for alumni of MOE Foundation's Coach Training Course, encouraging strong ethical principles and reflection in coaches’ practices.
Previous coaching experience also includes coaching Learnest members, a trans-led LGBTQIA+ organisation in Leeds and participants on She Leads Change’s Leading From Within and Leading For Collective Impact programmes, supporting women to advance in leadership.
