You are reading Coaching Weeknotes by Roxana Bacian: explorations at the intersection of coaching, personal and organisational development. These week notes are multiply authored - arrived at in conversation with many:
Like many of us, at the beginning of each year I choose a word for the year - an intention to live by and keep me grounded in myself. This year I chose ‘luxury’ as an encouragement to treat myself with care, gentleness, comfort where possible, relaxation, offering myself and others the luxury of time to work through things.
Half-way through each year I review the word for the year.
It’s pleasurable to start the year with will and even more pleasurable half-way through to look back and see what chance and life’s bigness brings instead, in parallel or in opposition. And what came up this time was ‘Begin Again’. In many ways, this made a lot of sense - personally and professionally. At the end of a long-term project in April, this invitation to look anew at where I was going made a lot of sense.
Over summer I spent lots of time reflecting on where I wanted to take my coaching practice next. Some updates on this front include:
* I’ve launched a team coaching offer and currently looking for teams to work with;
* Became an Associate Coach with Kokua Hub and On Purpose;
* Switched supervisors to a supervisor who is dual trained, both as a coach and psychotherapist, to meet the need of my coaching inclination to work at emotional depth, which I’ve long been working towards and now am ready to formalise.
I’m really excited about these developments, they come off the back of five years of continuous and dedicated work to becoming a better coach. And nothing can be more rewarding than seeing your practice deepen and develop. Of course, with the help of tens of hands and hearts, especially those of the clients who choose to work with me.
An invitation to you:
I’ve been reflecting on these weeknotes and what I might want them to become. For a long time, they’ve felt beautifully reflective and personal. And now I’m curious about how they can even better respond to your needs, the people who read them.
If you’ve been reading these weeknotes for a while or regularly, I’d be keen to have quick input from you on what you’re curious to hear from me about - no perfection expected, just a quick line will do! Thanks for helping me out with keeping this writing relevant - I find it even more exciting when I know it can be a useful and shared enjoyable experience.
Next Steps:
In the next few months I’ll focusing on re-accreditation, sprucing up my familiarity with the new ICF coaching competencies. For this I’ve reached out to George Warren of The Edge of Coaching to explore coach mentoring. Also in the coming months, I’ll be looking at joining more CPD events with Team Coaching Circle.
Shout outs to friends:

Thanks Emily but it won’t be an episode, it’s the mentoring programme George runs for coaches re-accrediting with the ICF.
Excited for your Edge of Coaching episode!
